Flashbacks. Thursday evening was the ignore collab bash with Spider Pussy (never held at Sofi Lounge btw), Oxycottontail, Turntable Lab, Bong Vodka and Sparks. These are quality links, go plug yourself. Inside the confines of SoHo Lounge, the Orange Room downstairs was all gunshot gangsta stuffiness at first, but Miami and TTL alum Egg Foo Young from Secret Frequency Crew jumped behind the decks like Mitch Buchannon and the chicas came out like he set off a whale whistle. Later, Egg single-handedly brought the dance floor back to 8 th grade so-socials. Friendship! [Jeezy Version]

Up some stairs, Trilladelphia’s “Kelly Bundy” Amanda Blank was a hazy sight, bringing dirty cig-raps to a packed room and leaving trashy glitter all over Miami. Spank Rock jumped around with a spirited rendition of “Rick Rubin” and was seen all over Collins on the dolo tip takin’ in the Spring Break pan-o-rama of thugs and the bitches they love. There were more brothers hanging out of cars this weekend than a fuckin’ Steve McQueen filmography.

Back in SoHo, Modular twofer the Presets seemed iffed over the venue’s notoriously fucked sound (jesus), but their Aussie deadpan of “we’re too fucking good, this song is too fuckin’ good,” had the kids stitched and their Certain Ratio-gone-Spy Hunter shredder “Steamworks” - an ode to a gay bathhouse in San Fran (?) - ooh’d and hah’d dark-crystal electro into the long night.

Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” Dem Franchize Boyz’ “White Tee” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” had the New Eras, fedoras and gays all clanging drinks as Hollertronix’s Low Budget went Balboa, spinning the Orange Room ‘til 5 a.m. Heads failed to put a stop to the hearting of Clarkson, as promoter Roxy Summers bunnied the room in satisfaction. Two years in the running, this Miami-Philly annual Thursday madness is only getting bigger. We beg you to differ on a blog or to our face.
